Privacy Policy

ShedBase ("ShedBase", "we", "us") is an inventory app operated by Silent Services Pty Ltd. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is stored, and the choices you have. We designed ShedBase to work without an account and to collect as little personal information as possible.

The short version

• Your inventory lives on your device. Cloud sync is optional.
• We do not require your name, email, or a login to use the app.
• We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps.
• You can permanently delete your cloud data from within the app at any time.

Information the app handles

• Your inventory content — the storage locations, items, quantities, values, notes, photos and product manuals you add. This is stored locally on your device. It is only sent to our servers if you turn on Cloud Sync.
• Cloud sync identifier — if you enable Cloud Sync, your devices share a randomly generated "sync key". This key is not linked to your name or email; on our servers we store only a one-way hash of it, never the key itself.
• Subscription status — if you subscribe, your app store (Apple or Google) processes the payment and gives the app a receipt, which our server validates to record whether your sync subscription is active. We never see your card or bank details.
• Waitlist email — if you enter your email on our website to join the early-access list, we store it (via SendGrid) solely to notify you about ShedBase.

How your data is stored

On-device data stays on your device unless you enable Cloud Sync. When Cloud Sync is on, your inventory (including photos and manuals) is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS) and stored in Microsoft Azure. Data is associated only with your hashed sync key — not with any personal identifier.

How we use the information

To provide the app's features: syncing your inventory across your devices, storing your photos and manuals, and confirming your subscription entitlement. We do not use your inventory content for advertising or analytics profiling.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We use a small number of service providers strictly to run the service:

• Microsoft Azure — cloud database and file storage for sync.
• Apple App Store / Google Play — subscription payments and receipt validation.
• SendGrid — sending waitlist and service emails (website only).

We may disclose information if required by law.

Deleting your data

You control your data. Removing the app deletes the on-device copy. If you used Cloud Sync, open Settings → Cloud sync → Delete cloud account & data in the app to permanently erase your cloud account and all synced items, photos and manuals from our servers. This action is immediate and irreversible. You can also email us to request deletion.

Data retention

Synced data is kept for as long as your cloud account exists. Once you delete the account (above), the associated records and files are removed from our systems.

Your rights

We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you by contacting us.

Children

ShedBase is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Security

Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Cloud data is protected by your secret sync key and server-side access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
